I am really sad it had to come to it - but enough is enough. There is a limit to what a web customer can tolerate from a hosting company - and Aletia just passed that limit too many times.
The environment is unstable, the down time frequent and unpredictable, and worst of all - the service is appaling.
To their credit I should say that when they DO work, and when the system IS up - the response time is very good!
I am happy to have found another hosting company (name will not be revealed for ethical reasons) that provides me with 5 times the bandwidth and 5 times the disk space - for just $17 / month. Needless to say - they actually have live people on ICQ and answer questions / resolve problems in real time. Can you believe it???
Reading all the problems people had with refunds - I am so happy I didn't go for the annual plan. I am now concerned that they will not stop the recurring charges!
We'll see - I am always willing to give them a chance to do good ;-)
Meanwhile - for all of you that stick to it - enjoy the ride!
