Can I talk about down time here if I promise to only moan and groan a little bit?? Course I've always been a round duck trying to squeeze into a square slot - so If this inconsequencial message get's relegated into an even less consequencial forum in this tiny spec of cyberspace - Well I'll survive - after I destroy the earth!!

Just went to ftp a couple of files to my site on 'eagle' and cute ftp pro just keep staring back at me like I was some kind of idjut or something - and it's usually so well behaved and cute - so checked the old status page and all the little squares were green cept one on eagle - the one that said 'web' wonder how long it's been that way cause all it says is As of then I guess it's up to the reader to interpret the blanks.
Just reading the subjects allot of the messages various forums - Sort of looking like they were a couple 3 months ago - seems like there was a very short interval when not too many complaints but upset people seem once again to be the rule not the exception.
Having been in business I truly fail to understand Aletia and those that are responsible for the company. Either the business is a viable entity capable now or in the future of generating a profit significant enough to make it worthwhile OR ITS NOT - If not they should pull the plug - If it is then they should be doing their utmost to generate the kind of pr that will cause growth - That starts by having satisfied customers - word of mouth is one of he quickest ways to build a customer base and it can grow exponentially if the customer is satisified and what he is receiving is equal too or better then the competition. - Just doesn't make sense that so many whose problems could probably be resolved easily or even if not could probably be persuaded to wait it out if they were just informed - just a few words when a problem occurs and the prognosis would go a long long way in keeping Aletia's customer base.
But this has been said hundreds if not thousands of times before and they continue to ignore us - to not bother to communicate with their customers either through email or forum when a problems occurs and even an estimated time until it is repaired.
I mean we are dealing with computers here and they know exactly who is on every server and obviiously they have everyone's email address - when a server goes down we are talking less then ten minutes to notify every individual that said down time effects with a short note stating the problem and hopefully the estimated time until it's up - or even admitteing that whatever the reason or possibly attack on the server the time for repair is unknown at the moment and they will notify when they have some idea or when the server is up.
10 minutes and they would stop all the bitching that goes on constantly and THEY WOULD STOP LOSING CUSTOMERS BY THE DROVE - least it seems apparent to me that they are from what I see in the forums!
Just doesn't make sense - Hope they make it through October when My contract comes due for renewal - if things are better I'll stay if not that's the way it goes - and the reason I would be leaving is not so much the down time but when it comes to customer service - they haven't the vaguest!!
