Goodbye??

As of last week, I am no longer an Aletia customer. I have terminated the reoccuring payment and am now in the lovely mess of transferring my site to a new host. That seems to be done, it's the resetting up mysql and stuff that is still left to be done. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy and buzy to do it at the moment.

Goodbye Aletia.

I also wish to say that I am willing to give up my position as moderator. In fact, I recommend that Aletia put some of their own personnel as moderators instead of users because:

1. Some decisions that are made by moderators (esp. me ) are contested by users.
2. I will be very busy in a few weeks. Summer has gone by too quickly.

Please don't turn this into a bashing Aletia thread. My decision to leave is between me and well ... me.

But I will still be around the forums to help where I can. So I guess this really isn't goodbye.

Sad news for all of us here, Julie.

Thanks for being the active moderator you've been all this time. The Aletia community has certainly benefited from your unflagging interest and support. Can't always be easy to keep a level and positive tone in this kind of position. I hope you will continue to check in as you say, but it is understood that your other activities will undoubtedly take precedence. Best of luck to you with both the new host and your new endeavors.

I certainly understand your decision, but I am glad that you will try and stick around on the forums as time allows.

I'm here til October then I also shall reluctantly make my departure. Perhaps Aletia will have some sort of rebirth by then but doesn't look that way. My site is down this evening again - lately seems Eagle is down as much as it is up - oh well - I wish them the best anyway.

Take care Julie - although it's not the reason you did it, I believe that your selfless dedication to helping others will come back on you in many positive ways.

Certainly don't know you but my perception is that your karma is beautiful.

Well, I come a little late to this party, but my sentiments are no less for it. Julie, I'd like to echo the others and thank you for the sheer amount of work you've put into being a moderator here. I know that I've certainly appreciated your presence.

I hope that your senior year of high school proves to be a good one, and that you find your way to the future that you want. It won't be easy, but I'm certain that you'll find it worth what you'll go through.

I know that you'll be back in these forums, having seen your posts since this "farewell". But I hope that, even if you cease being a moderator, that you continue to visit.

Of course I will continue to visit. Though Aletia's level of service has declined, the quality of the personalities of the people here has not. I love the people here and will be around as long as they are

Clio, glad to see you're still hanging about some, even if busy. Seems like things have gotten more civil around here again now that Jaguar has taken over. Glad to see that they've added a few of their own Gestapo Mods to take some of heat and help keep things an even keel.
