    Best Movie This Summer

What is the best movie you have seen so far this summer?

I am also including some future releases.

    I've seen the following:

Minority Report: Really good Speilberg movie. I loved all the Science Fiction effects. They were soo cool! Not only that, it was a great mystery movie, a who will do it

Road to Peridition: I saw this in a 20s theater in New York, it was PERFECT for this movie. I thought this was a VERY powerful and entertaining movie. I had just taken a moving making lecture that day, and I noticed the cinematography was great in this movie. And Jude Law is a scary villian! I prefer him as a goodguy, heh.

K19 Widowmaker: Not bad. The movie lost its tenseness (for the lack of a better word) at some points. But it was good overall and the parts that were tense, were REALLY tense. The accents were horrible. The ending was kinda weird. If it had ended in the past, it would have been fine.

Men in Black II: Very Entertaining. I love Will Smith. I want one of those Benz....

I saw some other movies too but these I like the best. I am also going to see later this summer:

    - Full Frontal
    - Signs
    - xXx haha, i thought this was a porn movie when i first HEARD about it.
    - Simone: i think this is clever! new idea that i think will be quite funny... hehe.

    Signs Rules

Signs was great. Shymalon has a gift for creating suspense without having to show everything. A rare talent indeed!

Minority Report was good, but would have been better if it ended half an hour earlier. I still liked it because Colin Farrell was in it.

Road to Perdidtion was excellent. Great acting, great cinematography... just great.

Signs was very suspensful, but I felt like the end was kinda lame after all that suspense. it's a good theater movie, if just to hear the other people in the theater scream

MIB2 was well... a sequel. It was good, but the first was better. and that dog gets on my nerves.

someone should go see Full Frontal and tell me if it was any good. I love David Duchovney, and it looked intruiging.

and i will absolutely see Triple X this coming weekend. i love Vin Diesel

    BUT
by far, the best movie I have seen this summer was Amelie. It's just a great movie. Even if it is in French Go rent it.

Hehe, I love David Duchovny toO! I like Julia Roberts as well. The reviews weren't that great, but it's a different kind of movie. I'll try to see it this week. heh, I gotta fit in 3 movies this week.

Yup. She was also in the Princess and the Warrior, probably her best film.

I can't believe three people voted for Goldmember. That was hands down the worst movie I have seen in years. None of the jokes were clever... they were all predictable, overdone, or just disgusting. The first two Austin Powers movies were great, this one, well, wasn't.

i hate austin powers in general. i'm not a fan of the "stupid comedy" type. i think there are several kinds of comedy and he calls into the 'stupid comedy' category. yeah, i can't believe it either, but this is america

    Hrumph.

The best French film I saw this summer was "Irène". I actually liked it better than "Bridget Jones's Diary", which is odd because I usually find that Anglo-Saxon films "understand" me much better than French ones.

Actually, "L'aubèrge espagnole" might've been a tie for the best French summer film. It does a great job of conveying the feeling of what it's like to live in another country.

"Lilo and Stitch" might've had my vote for overall favorite had clio included it. It was just too much fun, despite some typically Disney-ish broad strokes.

However, the best film was "Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi" ("Le voyage de Chihiro" here in France), the latest by Hayao Miyazaki, the creator of "Totoro" and "Princess Mononoke". An absolute masterpiece.

As for American films, "Spiderman" was a lot of fun. Much more so than "Episode II". "Jeepers Creepers" was a good back-to-classics horror film, especially in this age of "Jason X" and "Halloween: Resurrection". Finally, someone willing to take risks with the ending!

And for those from Down Under, thanks for "Lantana". This was a great film. I think it's the best performance Geoffrey Rush has given in a long time.

I saw it today. OMG, it's one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen in a theater. David only has about 5 minutes and only the first 4 are good and kinda funny. I don't want to ruin it for you.

It was funny if you look at individual stuff, but as a whole, I don't get it. I think it was a bit too experimental. And they didn't use like a movie camera in many shots and they kept moving and I got dizzy. But that might have also been because I skipped lunch and didn't eat until afterwards because my friend was late, heh. If you see it, brace yourself.
