Why not just tell everybody you're buying or merging with Aletia. It's obvious the way you've been hanging around here and your not entirely cryptic remarks. And you should learn how to spell or at least proofread your announcements if you want to be taken seriously. It's "bear", not "bare". Nobody wants to get naked with you.

I am outta here with my last account now. I picked Aletia at the beginning for a reason and don't have any interest in Jaguar at all.

Im not trying to hide anything here. Jaguar Technologies LLC has recently acquired Aletia.

If I make spelling mistakes you can let me know, after all I am human and I will make mistakes. If you are leaving and not happy that is fine. We are sorry to see you go. Aletia and its plans are not going to change.

Aletia isn't going to change? The way they have recently settled among the worst of providers, that could be a very costly acquisition for you. I know you didn't mean it that way, but this is the kind of thing I'm talking about here. Bad expression is not as bad as no communication, but there is no excuse for it in something like a forum where you have a chance to review what you write before you submit it. I guess my tiny rant here is the result of not saying anything for MONTHS about how badly Aletia has slipped into the cracks. The last site I left here was not as critical as the others, but there is only so much you can take.

This is not personal, Jag. I looked at your plans way back, looked at your forums then and now, and I'm just not all that impressed. My new host, who you and everyone else would probably know if I named them here, has kindly matched my plan and pricing from Aletia, has an accurate status page, has an excellent reputation and support, and has an active forum where the staff actually participate. Tell me, would you have passed it up, awaiting some miracle? If you had your own site hosted here, I think not.

    Good luck. You'll need it.

The Aletia plans and pricing wont change, you know what I meant .

There is obvious problems here at Aletia and we will correct them. We already run a very reputable and established business.

I can't say I would have made a different decision being in your shoes. You could not have known we were about to come in and start restoring Aletia to the great name it used to be. Your welcome to come back at any time and I'll even be happy to discuss this or anything else further in a PM.

Good luck with your new host, I wish you the best.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you did not respond with some hurt feelings/defensive pap. Good luck to you, too.

    Hi Jag,

Will there be an announcement about what will change around here?

Will Aletia and JaguarPC customers receive the exact same service?

Can Aletia customers switch to a JaguarPC plan?

Will the uptime guarantees at JaguarPC apply to Aletia customers?

Where will our sites be hosted (merging datacenters)?

These are just a few questions off the top of my head. Hope you can clear things up ASAP.

Anyway, good to see that something is happening with Aletia (can't get any worse methinks).

Atleast we finally know something. This may very well turn my head and decide against leaving when my year is up. We shall see how it plays out.

Thanks for the information Jag, much appreciated.

Im really wanting to get this list up to let everyone know about this right away. Until that happens I have to use the forums to keep you guys posted. There will still be an official mailing followed by a news release.

Yes, strong communication skills are a must. Our Jaguar clients have become acustomed to regular updates and daily interaction with the staff. This will continue on with our new friends and clients here at Aletia.

Will Aletia and JaguarPC customers receive the exact same service?
They will be serviced by the same staff, in the same data center, and basically become one large client base.

Can Aletia customers switch to a JaguarPC plan?
Yes, and vice versa. As soon as we integrate everyone to our existing system we will also be revising the hosting plans by mixing up the best of both current Jaguar and Aletia plans. All clients will be part of the Jaguar Technologies client base and use a common site. The JaguarPc site will be put to use as our corporate site.

Will the uptime guarantees at JaguarPC apply to Aletia customers?
    Yes

Where will our sites be hosted (merging datacenters)?
You can review a recent update we posted in our forums about our new Houston operation. We are migrating all clients, including the Jaguar and newly added Aletia clients, to this Houston facility. We will be replacing the existing Aletia solutions with our own equipment here in Houston. As soon as we get things settled down here I invite anyone wanting to stop by to schedule an appt to visit us here in the center.

We have some new site designs and forums. We will be moving and combining the jaguar forums and users with the ones on this board. One big happy family.

If you have any more questions please ask away.

Great to hear that Aletia and JaguarPC will basically be combined into one host. I was afraid that you would keep both "brand names" separate like some other large hosts do, like the nightmarish SBC/webhosting.com/oemwebservices/radientwebhosting (I still have no clue what the deal is/was with them).

Sorry about jumping all over you; I'm sure you're extremely busy. One suggestion: next time there's a big change like this, prepare and post all the official announcements before you actually let the information about the change leak out.

Usually we would, but we couldn't sit on the sidelines and watch users complain. I'll have to take the bite on this one but I would do it again to be able to help everyone faster.

I will say this, I was with aletia for almost one year and was happy for awhile. I moved to Jaguar before the merge was a planned/announced.

I have GREAT luck and quick responce from ALL the staff at JaguarPC. I know they will bring that same type of knowledge and still and willing to help to Aletia.

    Thanks Greg and his Staff.

I'm with glo on that. But I think I'd prefer a reputable company running things, rather than a "ruptable" one.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to better communication around here, and it sounds like you're off to a good start, Jag.

More questions to add to the list:

Are Dana and Ron still supermods here?

Is the Aletia Ticket system still the most appropriate place to submit support requests?

When the primary method of obtaining support fails (as it has for some here), what do you suggest a customer does next?

What level of participation can we expect from company staff members in the forums now? Will someone there actually be reading these posts regularly and responding when appropriate? Or will it be a more passive role?

Will the forums be merged any time soon (or at all) with those at JaguarPC?

What's planned for the Aletiahosting site itself?

It's understood that your plans are probably still evolving, but whatever light you can shed on these things will be welcome.

Are Aletia customers going to continue to receive at least a similar amount of resources for the same price? I'd looked at Jaguar, when I was thinking of moving, and I'm not sure Jaguar's 'budget' plan contains enough transfer for me. At the moment, it'd do okay, but in the long term... I do have a forum to keep running, and I'm a poor college student.

I know I know, but if I slow down right now I might not get this energy back today .

Ron is, I haven't met Dana. Only Staff members will have supermod status. But a few non staff folk will have regular mod status.

Is the Aletia Ticket system still the most appropriate place to submit support requests?
Yes, I wanted to wait for an announcement but one is in order now. We will prepare a release to clear up some information. Until we combine the sites into one please continue to use the previous methods.

When the primary method of obtaining support fails (as it has for some here), what do you suggest a customer does next?
Try our ticket system and either this forum or the jaguarpc.com ones. Live online support will be coming in a few weeks.

What level of participation can we expect from company staff members in the forums now? Will someone there actually be reading these posts regularly and responding when appropriate? Or will it be a more passive role?
Yes, Im here . If you will also notice the mod names listed in the forum. They are some of the staff members that will be on the forums.

Will the forums be merged any time soon (or at all) with those at JaguarPC?
Yes, we are preparring the new design and working on a script to merge the forums.

What's planned for the Aletiahosting site itself?

It's understood that your plans are probably still evolving, but whatever light you can shed on these things will be welcome.
More information on all of our sites and their purposes will be announced soon. We have a great number of sites, services, including one popular project.
