build it and they will come

Ok, I've read some articles on building machines and have thrown together a list of ingredients. Other than not including a sound card, keyboard, and mouse, is there anything missing? Is there any serious subtlety I've overlooked?

Go here for a list of ingredients:

    Just my 2 cents:

Don't buy from Thompson's computer hardware.
I buy all my parts from NewEgg.com and second choice is MWave.com

If you look into the subject of Geforce 4 cards, you will actually find that the MX series is basically a glorified Geforce2 (lacks GF3 features!), whereas the Ti series is really 'the' GF4.

If I see what else you are getting (compared to the system I have now ) and depending on what you want to do with it, consider getting a GF4-Tixxxx card instead.

When I bought mine recently, I found the Ti4200 to be best value-for-money.

Anyway, a websearch should provide you with some detailed info about the differences between the MX and Ti series (if you're interested )...
