    Houston Bound

Well guys and gals I'm off to Houston in a few weeks. Once I get there and get settled in, find a place for the family to rest their heads and so on, I will begin searching the area. What I will be searching for is the future potential location for JaguarPC offices and network to plant its feet.

I will of course have to do a great deal of research and see a good many professionals to arrange the connections and other nitty gritty details. Of course this entire time I will still spend all my time online as usual working hard for you guys as will the rest of the staff. Which brings me to another point, I will be introducing some new hired hands here in the next week or two as we start to scale up our operations.

I will be looking into Cogent bandwidth services as well to give our fellow Houston competitors a run on their offers while maintaining the high level of support we have provided and will always provide. If the cogent service proves to be a suitable provider you can expect server specials in the sub $200 range with 300-400 gig of bandwidth.

Lets be optimistic and look forward to a great 2002 year. . . . .Houston, HostGUI, phone support, and more to come.

    Good Luck!

Howdy Jag! Made the same move a few weeks back myself all though to the Dallas/Ft Worth Area. So far my family is loving it, even been swimming a few times. I think the only thing I am finding strange is listening to the news for tornado updates (as we were doing last evening) At least in NJ you had plenty of time to go inland when a hurricane was coming! One minute the sky is pitch black and a half an hour later suns shining and you would never know a storm came through. Very weird indeed.

I wish you the best of luck in your new venture!

This sounds great and is just in time as I am planning to upgrade to a dedicated server in the next few months and if you will offer 300-400 GBs of bandwidth I will definitely stay with you. Will the staff all be the same or will we get new people. Also is Tim Greer staying as he is great at programming?
    Thank You,
    Paul

I'm not much of a fan of Cogent. I heard they're down alot and noticed it myself bring Qwest and UUNET and Level3 that sounds more like it . Good Luck Greg, I look forward on hearing from you.

    Tornados ain't nothin' :P
I've been in Kansas my entire life, nothin's hit my house (they've been about a mile away though ) Hell, I've been outside during a tornado warning

Just get downstairs when the big recd blobs on the news get to your town And if it gets incredibly loud outside, get under a staircase or a mattress or something :P

Tornados are fun, just don't get sucked up in one... or hit by something it throws around

I dont know where you got this downtime being a problem with Cogent. I have yet to see a problem at all with Cogent and thats why others like rackshack use them, who also happens to be in Houston. But as for your point of redundancy, that goes without saying but I dont like UUnet. I will be getting quotes to our facility from At&T, Verizon, Qwest, Cogent, and Yipes. There are two others as well that have a unique service where they cover the redundacy of mutiple providers and I will get quotes from them too.

    Regards,
    Greg

I often hear the cogent issue as well. However, their bandwidth is so cheap. With cogent bandwidth, I can bring up my site fully.

I am waiting for that, Jag. I need that bandwidth. 40GB isn't enough for me right now.

Im here enjoying Houston so far, I love it here. I think with my ideas for the next few months and Houston's potential that we can do some marvelous things here. Now Im off to find someone with very deep pockets to pick and make that happen .

Well looks like we are getting settled and about to go live here very soon. I will be posting an update here in the forums and sending out a newsletter about it.

Resellers pay special attention to name server notices.

    Thanks,
    Greg

In the past few months we have taken a number of steps, purchased equipment, made provisions with data providers to bring over our existing client base and operations currently located in Florida. We will be updating our outline on the transition at www.jaguarpc.com/houston.php

    Hi!
Is it means that when we will move to Houston completely, all accounts will be using HostGUI or we are still using CPanel Instead?

No Houston does not mean HostGUI, but we do have a nice new theme in the oven for eveyone.

We also have a new site design baking up along with even more changes.
