Uh, not to take anything away from your effort, but it serves us users better to marshall all of our resources into one Forum. I have no problems with going to the JaguarPC Forums and saw the Aletia Forums downtime as a good thing, because it directed everybody over to the JaguarPC Forums.
What progress have you made on the merge? Sounds like survivor, doesn't it?:
Agreed. It helps that the Jaguar forums aren't as pokey anymore, now that they are settling into their new home. I wouldn't mind if the Aletia forums were closed to new posts and simply available for reference purposes only. A merge would be great, but I'm not sure it's worth the potential disruption to both forums. But it seems Jaguar prefers to keep the Aletia forums alive.
Back on Jag's initial post:
New emoticons have been added I see.
Thanks also for posting the page saying the forums were closed for maintenance this time. A link directing people over to the Jaguar forums would have helped though. Maybe next time that could be incorporated?

IMHO I can't see any reason to have 2 seperate forums, what is the point? I can see keeping these forums up as read only achives, but it just seems like double the work to keep both forums updated with announcements and such.
Well, should I start a poll to see if everyone feels the same way? Maybe just archive these forums and redirect them to the jag forums for now? That is until a successful merging tool can be created. I lost touch with the guy that was working on the merging tool for us.

Sure! A poll sounds like a great way to go.

Aww... sniffles... I did say that in my post...A link directing people over to the Jaguar forums would have helped though. Maybe next time that could be incorporated?
I don't really want to spend too much time looking at both the forums...Maybe one forum will be good?
If you see me posting, there must be bad news. ^^
I vote to consolidate the Forums.
Merging the two forums makes the most sense to me.
That I believe is still in the works. The question is what to do in the meantime. See this thread and poll by Jag for more.

Wow, this feels like a reunion. I feel like singing "Olde Lang Syne" -- and it's not even New Year's yet.
 (in lieu of one that shows Champagne or something classier)
