When you're talking servers, there's a lot more to take into account. The bridge chips, the hard drives' MTBF, the RAM...

Methinks that this is just flame bait for a poll. :smilie_fl :smilie_sp

Interesting... I need the opinions on your choice.

I personally prefer Intel coz it's tested... Is jag using Athlon MP's already?

Hmmm.... I would like to vote for AMD, but I think it might be intel unless Tom's Hardware finds another issue of instability for intel.
If you see me posting, there must be bad news. ^^

(I love some of these new smileys)

Actually, I didn't vote; I think both are decent for servers, so just add "1" to both choices. After all, even Cray is using AMD to build a 40-teraflop Linux cluster.

I'm also a laptop person and AMDs have problems with heat. My friend fried his computer because he left it on for a while. He's a computer junkie and he has several Intels and AMDs lying around and the AMDs just burn and fry laptops. I've put my AMDs into old desktops. Always Intel.

This is kinda funny. I'm not even a PC person anymore LOL.

    For servers? Intel.

    But for my desktop, AMD
