I was wondering, is there any particular reason we don't switch to Apache 2 servers? ...

    My experience with Apache 2 was not the best... I had some problems with a lot of programs... I'm actually very happy with 1.3.x and I don't see any reason to upgrade the servers... anyway, if all those little problems are fixed, I wouldn't have any objection if they install it.

    I think a lot of stuff hasn't yet been updated to work with Apache 2 properly--it's not in very wide use yet at all.
