    Question OS Commerce Upgrade?

    Hi,

I posted this in the support forum but did not receive a reply. Please.......anyone.....anyone?

I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the OS Commerce shopping cart accross the board?

The reason I ask is that Authorize Net has new transition requirements going into effect the end of the month and the New osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 1 addresses this issue (and it's a big one).

I would like to use the New osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 1 for a couple of resold accounts and it would sure save me some work if the Milestone version was installed from the control panel.

Any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Warmly,

    Lori Weiss

OSC is very easy to install by itself

I never used to Cpanel install program,

it comes with its own installer

    Thumbs up

    Hi,

Thank you for your replies. I am a cgi girl myself and and terribly new to php. The installer in the control panel is really easy to use and only takes about 5 seconds to install. It sure beats trying to install it myself.

Was just wondering if a resolution has been reached about this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

the installer that comes with the OSC distribution is very easy as well

all you need to know is the dbase user name and pass word, the File Path, and have the configure.php file permissions set to 777

    it does the rest

I have heard that the cpanel implentation of oScommerce has some features missing and that the best way to install it is with the download.

I read that over on the oscommerce boards.

You know, I did notice that when I installed the 2.2 milestone. It is an easy install, but I was looking at the time factor. Instant installation vs 45 minutes (incuding configuration).

Guess we will just have to wait it out and see what happens.
