Quick question, what is the diference between PHPnuke and PostNuke? what can one do that the other can't? Which one has a bigger development/module base?
Answers will be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also, do any of them support "groups", as in grouping users to control what they can and can't see?

So I guess nobody here has used both PostNuke and PHPnuke?

I haven't, sorry,
I'd just try them both and use the one you like better.
Hi,
PHP-Nuke and Post-Nuke look quite the same (and I think modules written for one work with the other). Post-Nuke branched from PHP-Nuke at Version 5 (again, I think) and it was rewritten in a more modular format. This will hopefully make for a much more maintainable and extensible tool.
My opinion only!
Cheers,
Gary
You know, I signed up here for an account here a week ago and I've been meaning to do this. After doing a little research, I've decided to go with PHPNuke. So, I spent about 2 minutes in 'Control Panel' setting it up, and 5 minutes in Wordpad configuring it. Here's the result:Originally posted by mattsiegman

What do you think? Not bad for canned CMS, huh?
This place rocks!!!
My impression, after searching the web for 2 days, is that PHPNuke is the REAL thing and PostNuke is a weak imitation. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't have a lot of tolerance for whiners, and that's what the PostNuke crowd seems to be. So, I'm going with PHPNuke. After 10 minutes of playing around with it, I'm impressed, to say the least.Originally posted by DevNull

I report back to this thread later, if it turns out to be a POS...
