Chat Rooms (again)

Quite a while ago, I asked whether we could have a better chat room selection on our CP.

I was told that we will be getting a better 'in house' configurable CGI version - that would come with Hostgui.

This obviously isnt going to happen for some time

Could I ask you guys to at least evaluate MyPHPchat? I noticed that we did have it on CP at one time (v3 i think).

I know you've had it tough lately, but i really dont like using another chat host

On Palmversa I was allowed to run an IRC chat client because it
was specially built to be secure.
It doesn't allow for receiving files or sending, it also can only log into the channel the webmaster sets it for.

I still have it up on a client's site, though it hasn't been used since the move.

BUT

I think it unreasonable to not allow some sort of chat program, and not a page refresh thing. The refresh chats are useless.

There is a need for many JPC clients to run an IRC type chat client.
I don't think we would care if it wasn't an actuall IRC chat just as long as we could have a room for the site and admin controls, but it would have to be a clean flowing chat like IRC.

We need to work together to come to a solution.
