Anyone else get to experience the "fun" of the blackout last night? Anyone still without power? (I guess you can't answer that, can you... ) ...

    Blackout

Anyone else get to experience the "fun" of the blackout last night? Anyone still without power? (I guess you can't answer that, can you... ) I was out from about 4:30 yesterday afternoon until about 11:30 last night.

On the plus side, I got to work this morning to discover that my school decided to close today (simply because there is no AC). That never happens! I've spent many an late spring day in a 85+ degree office before...but I'm not complaining!

Sorry you were affected by the blackout, Jason. Also glad things are back to normal. Well except school.

Not out here on the left coast of course, but you have our empathy.

Most of us went through the thrill of "rolling blackouts" a couple of years ago with the help of out-of-state power brokers and years of poor in-state planning. Only those who were lucky enough to share the same line as a critical service like a police station or hospital were spared the pain. Must have been a boon to the UPS manufacturers. It definitely shook up the local politics.

Perhaps a recall will be in the future for you too? (Just when I think the politics out here couldn't get any more surreal, they do).

Anyway, here's to all you Easterners getting back up and running soon. Sure glad our web servers aren't there now!
The trouble with our times is that the future is not what it used to be.
