newcentaurus is down for more than 24 hours now.

We have replaced one of the bad drives in the raid array on this server and is performing a raid rebuild which is resource intensive. This is causing the slowness in performance. So long does it take to complete? If I analyze the rate it seems it's 2% every four hours. Does it mean it will be complete after 3 or 4 days? So what is your backup is doing when this kind of issue arises? Many of my clients are berating me about this. It should have been good if http is up even slow but it's down for more than 24 hours now. Even my reseller site is down because of this. I am losing potential clients as well even existing clients.

I share the disappointment with peter. This is really annoying, and very unprofessional. It can't be possible for the server to be down this long, and also to last this long to restore. Last half of year you disappointed me so much.

I read this notice again in the "emergency maintenance": We are seeing performance issues on reseller server newcentaurus.nocdirect.com due to a failing drive. We will be replacing this drive in the raid array on an emergency basis. We will keep you updated.

After just two months the drive is failing again? It means 48 hours of downtime again? Pls advise.

Hi Peter, it most likely is not the same drive. Remember, in a raid configuration, there is multiple drives. Raid 10 requires a minimum of 4 drives, but most servers have more then 4 drives.

The nice thing about Raid 5 and 10, is that it gives you a warning about a drive problem, so you can swap out a drive and not lose any information.

Kindly update on the status of newcentaurus server pls, downtime is close again to 24 hours. Please, we do not want our clients berating us again because of this. Just barely two months and it raid rebuild again? Does it mean this server is really problematic? I am one of our oldest clients
