Softaculous Availability

Hi. Does anyone have information when Softaculous will be rolled out in the web hosting plans? Information on the JPC website indicates they will have Softaculous available as part of the hosting service.

Hi Juunin,
I don't have an ETA but I will found out for you. Softaculous licenses are available for VPS, Hybrid and dedicated server accounts and have been for some time now. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything regarding softaculous being rolled out on our shared servers.

Hi Juunin,
Thanks for your patience. I'm afraid I don't have an ETA for you at the moment but I do have some news.

The support manager says some testing was done but as you know, nothing has been implemented on the production servers yet. He says it can't be installed on our servers or replace Fantastico until they work out what impact it will have. This task is top priority for support and they will investigate if Fantastico and Softaculous can co-exist on the same server. If they run into difficulties with that, or even migrating from Fantastico to Softaculous, they may look at implementing Softaculous on new servers only. If that ends up being the case, any clients who want Softaculous could easily be migrated to a new server which supports it. Hopefully it does not come to that but they need to investigate every possible scenario so we can't rule anything out at the moment.

The support team will investigate all those scenarios and more to make sure the implementation is as smooth as possible. Please feel free to post here for an update whenever you like. If I have more information at the time I will surely pass it on to you. Alternatively, you can email me personally at ross@jaguarpc.com.

cPanel Hosting with Extras and Freebies

section.

- Free Softaculous: Instant Shopping Carts, Blogs, Portals, Forums, and more
- Website Statistics: AWStats, Webalizer, Raw Log Manager, Referrer and Error Logs
- WebMail Access: Horde, SquirrelMail, RoundCub

JPC may want to update that information until Softaculous is rolled out.

Hey Juunin,
Yes the website is a little ahead of things in reality, Greg (the CEO) knows about the situation so I'm sure he will make a change to the website if he feels it's necessary. I think he would prefer to fast track the rollout of Softaculous instead. I done a little digging and we have Softaculous running fine on one of our reseller servers, so it seems to cooperate with Fantastico quite well without causing any issues. Hopefully Softaculous is rolled out faster than previously thought. If you were a reseller then we could get you migrated to that server, but it's not much help since you're on shared.

I'll update this thread when any new information comes to hand.
