I would much rather go through a search, security points, etc, then have them do nothing.

Anyway, the subject is getting off base. I think it is great that Jag or any retailer does extra security when using peoples credit cards.

I think if more retailers did this, we would have a lot less fraud.

I'm curious as to why are you opening up old threads to defend JAG right at this point in time?
    Good luck

No Reason, just came across the thread. It isn't too old. It was near the top of recent threads. Is this a problem?

If it is, just delete my posts on this thread. No harm meant.

My goodness. The first time I've come across a 'true believer' in the 'theatre of security' in a long time.

I would much rather go through a search, security points, etc, then have them do nothing.
Even though the measures are completely ineffectual?

Here's some light reading for you. The author is well known and well regarded in the crypto/security communities. Even the TSA (when their corrupt employees aren't stealing your valuables) use him as a consultant.

    Hi Bell,

I understand your view, I really do, I am just saying, at least it is an attempt to do something, and make it much harder for amatuer terrorists/copycats to do harm to people. (Like the underwear bomber).

I have been a volunteer EMT/Paramedic for over 18 years, I have seen the devastation in New York when 9/11 happened. So I guess I am a fan of being proactive in any way possible.

It is just the same as having a lock on your house, or a car alarm on your vehicle. If a true expert thief wants in or wants your car, they are going to get it. The locks, or alarms, only makes it a little more difficult.

I appreciate your view, and I respect your thoughts and opinion.

thanks my friend and God Bless.

PS: I can agree with you on the TSA employees. They are not all the best quality employees they can get. Then again, they only make like $9 or $10 an hour, so they may of been working at Burger King before the TSA job.

There is some that truly do care, and are honest, so I won't bad mouth all of them.

Ah, so posts such as this one (of which there have been a flurry of late) do not have your imprimatur?

This couldn't be any more off-topic but... what sidebar/dock/panel is that on the right?

    Thanks.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation though, isn't it? One one hand we have people who want to know us and the other posters. There are people who come on the forum just to express disdain. It's the nature of faceless communication.

We're not robots, and these types of post are done at the end of the working day normally, in order to get to know people. Would you be angry at the grocery store clerk who asked about the weather?

How do you figure that I'm angry? I'm not angry about this. I'm puzzled however by the huge flurry of staff 'social' threads being started lately, after years of that not being the case. My assumption is that there's a reason behind it.

There is a reason behind it. We want all of our staff to be more active on the forums, even if it is just chit chat. We have added many new staff members lately and will be adding more in the coming months. We want everyone to know, that we really are human, we do have a face, and we will be extremly active on the forums from now on.
