I've never had this much trouble getting a hosting account setup. Multiple phone calls to support who can do nothing to assist, multiple emails to sales staff with no clue about how to verify identity and nobody can give me contact info for an owner or manager with a little common sense to look at the issue.
Looks like I might be wasting my time with Jaguar since my IP cannot possibly match my credit card info. Things such as the Whois info on the domain, and the email address as stated previously are not used?
Do they really think that people never logon from other locations, or god forbid travel? Blindly following the IP address is just silly. I guess before trying to give my business to Jaguar I should have setup some sort of server/vpn so I could proxy/spoof my IP?
Seems quite crazy just to get a hosting account setup. Heck, I've setup half of dozen hosting accounts, merchant accounts, registered LLC's, and have ran my online ventures from the "wrong" IP's for years.
How do you get a hold of someone who can apply a little common sense? Blindly following the IP address is just plain silly. IP's are easy to change. Why not use common sense to verify identity? Things like the whois info on the domain, the email address, or the common forms of id such as DL or passport? It's amazing that sales staff will blindly trust an easily spoofed IP, but not check for a DL or passport.
I've heard some good things about Jaguar and wanted to give them a try. To be honest, the tech's I spoke to were absolutely wonderful but they have no power to assist in sales/billing issues and the sales staff is incapable of applying common sense to verify identity. So it looks like my only option is to take my business elsewhere.
