So what can the rewards be used for?

I was going to apply them toward a 2nd account or the domain name. Thought all would go well and just get charged for the difference. Got charged for the whole thing and still have all my reward points. So what are they good for?

Hi Webmist,
The points can be used towards new accounts or addons, but they can't be used for domain names.

Lets say you have 2000 points. 200 points = $1 so you have $10 to spend. You could use the points to cover the first month of a shared hosting account, or even use them to pay for an addon on a VPS such as cPanel. They can't be applied to a cost which is larger, for example you can't signup for a yearly shared account and partially pay the invoice with points, nor can you partially pay for a VPS with points.

If you send a ticket to customer service, we will be happy to apply the points to your 2nd account, however.

Which is why Reward point == pointless...

I have almost 9,000 "points" and even stopped getting my "Monthly Points" in march (dont know why, really dont care but I would have almost 10,000 if those would have kept going) but there are soo many rules and conditions on their use they are really worthless...

The policy on the Reward points make me think you guys consulted the airlines when you created your programs, "Sure you can book that flight with miles sir but you have to only fly on the Third Tue of the month and only if that Tue is a full moon, and only if there is no holiday in that month... "

We have had many many clients take advantage of the rewards points, to add additional accounts, or addons. We also had many clients complain about the points because they could not buy new domains, or pay outstanding invoices with them.

The rewards points system has been canceled due to the complaints, that is why you are no longer getting points added to your account. Any accumulated points may still be used.

Somehow that does not surprise me at all.

A couple years ago, a local club, asked the company I was working for to sponsor a meeting for them, and cater it. My company agreed and set up the office for a meeting place, had tables, chairs, employees volunteered to work the event (all at night), and the company paid and supplied food and beverages. The food was outstanding and very expensive. ALL donated by my company. The Local club members didn't have to pay anything. The event went great, people came, ate and drank like there was no tomorrow, and then left.

Over the next few days, the people who came for the FREE DINNER, started posting on local club forums that the food was lousy, and the menu should of included more choices, and they should of supplied alchohol!!!


This made the owners of the company extremely mad, and said that they will never do that again. One of the people that were complaining was the CLUB PRESIDENT, and the following year came around and the CLUB PRESIDENT had the $%# to come ask the company to do it again. The owners had the complaints printed out, and handed them to the CLUB PRESIDENT, and said, here is your answer, and they said "see yourself out".


It is amazing that some people will complain no matter what you do for them, no matter what you offer them, and even if it doesn't cost them a dime, they still feel the need to complain.

Yes it was a completely free, out of the good of our hearts attempt to show loyalty like so many other things we do. This one went on for years with nothing but complaints and zero appreciation, and lots of overhead to manage the system. So its cancelled. Which is why this year we have been promoting our referrals and affiliates system more. We will just deal with cash, you make us some, we give you some. Buy what you want.

I guess you missed what was said above. They cancelled the reward points last march. They do not exist any more.
