    Am I being OverCharged?

I've have 2 separate hosting accounts with Jaguar here for a number of years. Things run smoothly, so I don't check back much here directly.

Both accounts are on the 'gigadeal' plan, paying monthly at $9.95 each for a total of $19.90 per month.

Now, I'm seeing that standard web hosting on a monthly basis includes unlimited storage and bandwidth and is $7.95 per month.

So, can someone tell when this changed, and why Jaguar does not notify their existing clients of a price change? I'm sure if prices were increased, they would waste no time in charging you more.

I'm half of the mind to just move and cancel my accounts. There only for fun, personal use anyway.

    Hello,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, please submit a ticket to customer service and we will be glad to look into it for you. I don't know the exact date off hand, but we notified all clients of the change. Please submit a ticket and we we'll get your accounts changed to the new price as soon as possible.
    Kind regards.

In JPC's defence, I've been the happy recipient of several emails over the years advising me of either more capacity or a lower price for my various plans.

Like I said earlier as well. In general, Jaguar has been a great hosting provider.

I submitted a ticket, and will await there response. Although I would really like to learn when the pricing was changed, since should technically give me a credit for the past over charges.

I notice I was charged more than the current price for 12 months when I renewed in November. Do changes in pricing only get applied for new sign-ups unless you ask or something?

In JagPC's defense: this works both ways. You generally just keep your package and conditions, including price, for ever. This means that you will have to ask if you want to "migrate" even if that migration is just to a new nicer price point. But it also means you don't loose anything without you wanting / noticing that when a newer package is introduced with slightly different perks.

I have received emails from Jaguar notifying me of plan changes, but it always ended up in my favor, my price didn't change, but I received more ram, space, etc. It was like Christmas several times! LOL

I remember the most recent email regarding new plans, more for lower price, etc. For some reason I assumed it was for new accounts and that getting the new deal on an existing account wasn't an option. Didn't take the time to check since I thought that would just be too good to be true.

I have always just been moved to the new pricing.. I know when the VPS pricing change awhile Back my Plan Auto Changed, it was cheaper overall so I am not complaining but some things did change.

I will have to look to see if my GigaDeal Account was renewed under the old pricing.

shwn... Do you know when that email came out? I would understand it not going into effect if your 'under contract' per se. But when your up for automatic renewal, or like myself and on a monthly basis, you would believe the price change would be automatic as well. There's nothing to sop someone from just cancelling and resigning to a lower rate when you not under contract.

I don't remember when the emails came, but it's been awhile, I think at least a few months.

I don't view it as being "overcharged" myself. If JPC presents them as new plans, new prices, I wouldn't expect the changes to apply to existing accounts. I view it more as "You snooze, you lose." I should have paid more attention, especially at renewal time.

It would be nice if they provided a way under "manage account" to handle making these changes (I have a thing about not bothering support).
