DNS problem + Cant log on to Client Section!

    Hi,

My problem is, my DNS cant resolve properly to it IP, when I open my browser and type htdtelecoms.com it open a directory instead of my page, I did a nslookup which result a wrong IP (216.168.60.84).

I tried to open www.jaguarpc.com to get into client section to open support ticket, but I got the msg:

    ***********
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

    ---------------------

    Apache/1.3.27 Server at jaguarpc.com Port 80
    ************
Then I tried to go throught a proxy, I managed to get in to the main page but when I login, I got the same error msg:-(
I'm from Vietnam, are you blocking vietnam's IP???
Kindly ask you to fix both problem and confirm via email :quyda@hungviet.com or quyda@yahoo.com

    Thanks
    Quyda

I'm not trying to be a wiseguy, but are you paid up here? That looks like one of those 'holding' areas where they send someone that is late on their payments, or whatever.

    Hi Vin,
I can still access the web via IP address http://66.227.59.152/
I did a who-is at enom.com, It shows my name on the record and expire date is: 2004-10-11;-)
Yes, I had a problem with my creditcard info, but I fixed it and I've received the renewal bill.
Also, I have another account (hungviet) at aletia, and cant log on as well.

Pls check and confirm via email provided earlier asap!

    Thanks

I just did a 'dig' on www.htdtelecoms.com and it came back as 66.227.59.152, but you already know that. What you might not know is your name servers are listed as:
    • DNS1.NAME-SERVICES.COM
    • DNS2.NAME-SERVICES.COM
    • DNS3.NAME-SERVICES.COM
    • DNS4.NAME-SERVICES.COM
    • DNS5.NAME-SERVICES.COM
That's where the problem is. Those appear to be sitting on a WinNT IIS server at ENOM in Redmond, Washington, not Houston, Texas. Here's there addy. Ring a bell?

    http://66.151.151.171/

    Mine are:
    • NS.JAGUARPC.NET
    • NS2.JAGUARPC.NET
    • NS3.JAGUARPC.NET
    • NS4.JAGUARPC.NET
    • NS5.JAGUARPC.NET
    • NS6.JAGUARPC.NET
I assume you didn't change this. That's why I wondered if there was a billing problem or something.

BTW, how's the weather in Hanoi? It's still 102 in the shade in Arizona. LoL! What a strange place this Internet is, no?

    Hi Vin,
The thing is, I cant get into Enom, as they're blocking IP from Vietnam. And I managed to open a support ticket via https, hope they would soon fix it as things (DNS web/email) dont work properly for over 1 week.
I'm gonna get rid of Enom soon! this is the second time having problem with Enom:-(

The weather in Hanoi is around 15-25C (we follow french measurement) so dont know exactly what it is in F

Okay, in that case it was 22-38C here yesterday. Well, that sucks! I guess I should live in Vietnam instead of Arizona.

Hopefully someone will see this post and get things straightened out for you. Good luck!

Have you tried using an Enom reseller to access your account? I am an Enom reseller (sorry, I don't have a site set up yet) and I've used my account to register a domain for myself. I can log in to AletiaNic and manage that domain from there, even though I didn't register with them. AletiaNic uses PDQ, a hosted app at Enom's headquarters, so you might still be blocked from there as well, but if you can find a US-based registrar hosting their own application that ties into the Enom API, you should be all set.

Enom seems to be completely down right now, so I can't see who you actually registered your domain with. If it was AletiaNic, support will be able to access your domain and make changes for you, so open a ticket and ask for help.

    This is interesting...

As you've pointed out in an earlier post, you domain is being shown in the central domain registry as expiring in 2004. However, when I query Enom's whois server for this domain, I get the following:

    Domain name: htdtelecoms.com

This name has EXPIRED, the former whois information is:
    ...
    Creation date: 10/11/2002 05:32:33
    Expiration date: 10/11/2003 05:32:33
Since Enom "thinks" it is expired, it explains why your dns servers have been changed and why the name points at a different IP. That is a common practice for Enom to employ on expired domains.

I would check your records to figure out when you last renewed your registration and for how long. It appears that you may have missed a renewal date last weekend. It looks like Enom is grabbing expired domains for a year after they expire, which would keep you from being able to reregister it elsewhere. Also likely is that they'll charge you a higher fee than a normal registration to release it back to you. This, IMHO, is a rather deceitful business ethic, but I've seen it done by other registrars.

Good luck getting your domains back. To me it looks like you've accidentally and unknowingly let the names expire.

Well, that confirms my suspicions - a holding area. Nice dig, jason!

Personally, 'we' (my family) use Dotster. We haven't had one problem with them, we have total control over our domain names 24/7/365, and it's only 15 bones a year. Originally, we used Network Solutions. They sucked big time and charged us $35, but back then that's all there was. Hell, now that I think about it, I think we had to register for 2 years at a time, so it was 70 bones a whack - can't remember...

Sounds like it's time to find a new registrar!

    Hi,

I've received my DNS renewal invoice:
    Invoice #JPC20031014-2973-20055318
    Date of Invoice: 10-13-2003

But it's been 2 almost 2 weeks and the DNS is still down:-(

I'm from Vietnam, so I cant log in to Enom neither Aletianic as they apparently blocking IP from Vietnam, which pretty annoying!
I'm talking with jaguarpc staff to get the problem fixed

I'm migrating my domains to registerfly.com (around 9$/y) with live support, well I think is's a very cool feature!
Thank you Jason for your very valueable info.
Vin: it's Fall in Hanoi now, so a normal summer day can be 30-40C;-)

I'm talking with Enom to see if they can unscrew themselves long enough to get that domain out of there. I apologize for all the troubles.
