    AOL whats being done?

This should probably be posted under e-mail management but
there are problems that need to be addressed. Somewhere in
the forums there was a thread about this but I could not find it.
As I remember Les said Jag was working with AOL about
this. I have a lot of customers from AOL. I receive a lot of
questions from potential customers from AOL. If I reply to their
    e-mail it immediately bounces.

If I send them a new e-mail it does not bounce. All e-mail is sent through our ISP.
I realize that when a reply is made then there is information in the headers
that cause AOL to bounce the e-mail. However because of the amount of e-mail
I receive from AOL this is getting extremely frustrating.

Why can't Jag get this problem resolved. For me it is becoming a time consuming
problem and I'm sure that others still have the same problem.

    Happy Turkey Day

Its something Jag really can't control. Spam filters are screwy and Jag has tried to get them changed, but currently has had no success.

If AOL customers report any mail from our servers as spam AOL blocks the server IP. When we find out about it (from client complaints) we submit the IP to AOL for a test to determine if the server is an open relay and then they unblock it. We never get the spam complaints from AOL. They just block the server and move along.

I understand your frustration and we use every tool AOL gives us to keep the " lines open".

Jason, I know it's the screwy AOL filters. Don't know why anyone would want to
    use AOL.

    Les,

What would I need to do to see if you can get my IP cleared? I don't send
    Spam.

Strange this only started happening after the Spews blacklist
    problem was solved.

It shouldnt be your ip, rather its the server IP. I'll run it through right now.

My experience has been that this was all taken care - that is, until we switched IP addies. Now it would appear, 'we' are back on everyone's spam list[s] again.

So, I'm afraid this IP change was one step forward and two steps backwards, in some respects...

I didn't have any problems with AOL or any other ISP back when everyone one
else was when SPEWS (or whoever blacklisted all of Jag)

My problem only started recently but it was prior to the IP changes. The
server in question is Titanium and I don't think the IP has been changed yet.

I deleated all the headers in a recent e-mail I received from a AOL
address before replying. That bounced too.

To make my situation a little stranger, when someone signs up for our NewsLetter
a autoresponder sends a welcome message.

Several people from AOL have signed up for the NewsLetter since this started
but the welcome message doesn't bounce. It only seems that when I reply
to a message from AOL that the reply bounces.

Well, we'll have to give it a while...

I'm busier than hell right now. I don't even have time to read a whole thread before I post, so maybe I'm missing something myself.

It doesn't appear that AOL is bouncing my mails. It's other places now - other ISP's. After I have a chance to place a handle on it, I'll post up here...

An interesting development about the problem I originally inquired
about. The server IP was changed a few days ago.
I have been able to reply to any AOL e-mail since then without a bounce.

AOL seems to be blocking (read: silently dropped on the floor) all of my emails sent to AOL customers.

If you get the bounce messages from AOL paste one in a ticket please (with headers). We can use AOL's online tools to have the server unblocked.

    Quick update:
I opened a ticket for this and another email issue (that also turned out to be AOL related).

AOL access was restored quickly (day or two).

    Ron

PS "silently dropped on the floor" would indicate that I don't have a bounce message!
