Hi,
I'll be signing up for a new account with Jaguar this week (V200) and wanted to get info on how to get an SSL Certificate, how much they cost and how long it takes to get one.
Thanks!

JPC can sell you an InstantSSL cert for about $50/year. Just open a support ticket or email sales@jaguarpc.com and ask what you need to do. They seem to be pretty good certificates for most applications, but they do not have the widespread trust of other CA's (certificate authorities) in older browsers. There are many other companies that offer certificates, their prices range from $100 or so to up over $1000/year. Each certificate will behave differently with different browsers (or devices, if you plan to cater to the wireless or WebTV markets), so its important to evaluate each company for your specific needs. Check out http://www.sslreview.com for everything you could possibly want to know about SSL certificates.

I know a place that sells GeoTrust certs for 25 bones a year, but I'm not going to broadcast it on this web board. That wouldn't be fair to JagPC...

Thanks for the replies. I think I will just send an email to sales.
I refuse to pay in bones![]()
I agree! It is in everyone's best interest to keep this price financially viable. When at all possible, you should buy services from JagPC. I just brought this up because jason listed a range of prices that wasn't accurate on the low-end...Originally posted by wbrook

In regard to the browsers that accept the chained certificate that Jag offers
for $49.00 Netscape 4.7 recognizes it. I just purchase a second cert from
Jag for another site I'm developing. I'm aware that there are sources for
less expensive certs but when you order from Jag they take care of ever thing.
To me its worth the few dollars difference to handle everything through one
Company that will take care of everything. ![]()
