    Spam conquering inbox - time to abandon ship?

    I'm getting over 400+ spam messages everyday... I was wondering if there's a way to disable email - to have everything either A. Become a blackhole, or B. Have everything bounce back... - mostly because spam is conquering my inbox, and so I think it's a good time to abandon it... ^^

    I think there are good tools for spamfight. Is most spam coming to a specific email address? If so, you could add a mail filter to discard that mail and create another email for the important mail(and make sure this address is not revealed on web page). Did you enable Spam Assassin, it could help too together with mail filters.

    If you want to bounce the mail with "no such user here" message, go to Control Panel and set up mail forwarder:

    yourmail@yourdomain.com => :fail: no such user here

    If you want it to silently accept the mails and discard them, try
    yourmail@yourdomain.com => "> /dev/null"

    I know that "|php script.php" works just fine, so it makes sense that > redirect would work too.

    Yay! The /dev/null works fine. ^_^ Thankies! I didn't know if I should have it bounce - because the spammer might be using someone else's email addy and it'll bounce to them. ^^ Dunno if that would be better to have it bounce than to have it blackholed..

    By the way, does anyone have a problem trying to download their email through outlook express? Everytime I try to - it sometimes gets hung up on trying to download one email message, even though it's 3 or 4 kB in size, and I have to delete it through NeoMail... I don't know if there's a known cause or reason for it to... ^^
