Dear all,

It came to my attention recently that CPanel (or at least JPC's configuration of it) automatically appends the user's domain ("@domain.com") when none is specified in the "forward to" address in "Forwarders".

While this may not present a problem to many, it does to anyone who wishes to pipe his email directly to a file (an email folder, script or otherwise). It used to be that simply filling the "forward to" field with the path to the file would pipe it fine. By appending the "@domain.com", the delivery program now attempts to send to "folder1/folder2/file@domain.com" which of course is a non-existant address.

I made a second attempt by including the pipe symbol before the path, which of course failed since the delivery program attempted to pipe to "|/folder1/folder2/file".

I also considered using e-mail filtering, but this does not suit my needs, since I often receive mail from listservs, in which the "to address" is lost. It also requires a listing in forwarders as well, to "create" the address.

JPC, please fix.
