    transfering FROM Registryrocket -> aletianic

    A few years back, I registered a domain Homesteadingtoday.com with Aletia. Then JaguarPC bought Aletia.

    Now I want to transfer my domain to a different registrar before it expires. Went to https://www.registryrocket.com/defau...3B& color=tan and made sure it wasn't locked, then put in a transfer request from the other registrar.

    It's been a week, what else do I need to do on the JaguarPC end?

    I've never transferred to or from Aletia, but I've been through registrar transfers before. Generally, you put in the transfer request with the NEW registrar. They notify the current registrar who then tries to contact you for authorization to give up the domain. Sometimes it can take a while for everything to happen, but a week seems a little excessive. Check that AlatiaNic has a current email address for you, as that's the most common point of failure.

    I did put the transfer in with the NEW registrar.

    I complained about the time it was taking, they said to contact JaguarPC since they asserted JPC was holding up the show.

    So wait a minute ... why check AletiaNic when my registration says JaguarPC?

    And what's taking JaguarPC so long?

    AletiaNic is the website for JPC's domain registrations. The actual registrations are done by a company called eNom. JPC is a reseller for them. When JPC took over over Aletia they changed the way that info is displayed in the Whois data to display "registration provided by JaguarPC," but the registration website is still AletiaNic.com.

    I'd suspect that your problem is actually out of JPC's control--its probably a hold up at eNom somewhere. If you look up your whois info, you'll see an email contact (I think its les@jaguarpc.com). I don't know if he'll be able to help you at all, but try contacting him.

    ICANN.ORG complaint dept. next stop.

    Okay, but if this doesn't work I'm going to complain vigorously to ICANN.org.

    This should have already been taken care of.

    Just email sales@jaguarpc.com with your aletianic.com username and the doamin name you want placed in the account. Regsitry rocket is part of eNom and there is no need for a transfer. We just need to put the domain in your account.
