    Domain Resolution Insanity / WTF?!

Jaguar's support department is usually very responsive and capable, but this has been absolutely insane.

My domain expired on 1/29 morning because of CC error on my part. I immediately resolved the CC issue, and asked support to restore my domain.

Support said they would restore the domain, and that it should resolve in a 24-48 hours.

    I waited.

After 48 hours, I brought it to their attention again. They told me to wait another 24 hours because they "also changed the serial umber in the db".

    I waited.

After 24 more hours, they told me that they would pass it along to the sales department , who would look at it.

It's now been ANOTHER _24 hours_. And nothing has happened. I have been unable to receive any email for 5 days , and it is costing my business considerably.

Convential wisdom tells me that domains resolve within 24-72 hours of being registered. By that logic, I would have had my domain back two days ago. What the hell is going on?!

This is insane, and profoundly frustrating. Does anyone have any advice, besides have a drink, or "take my business to rackspace"?

Looks like your domain name is resolving to a 'holding area' at Enom. If I was you, I would try contacting them directly. Don't ask me how - I'm a Dotster client...

I believe I have replied to your email this morning.

On this note I’ll reiterate the current situation with the domain renewals and the problems with them. The previous management of Aletia offered free domain renewal with the purchase of an annual hosting package. This is great however they neglected to document any details of who received this. When Jaguar took over and started cleaning house we had no documentation on whose domain to renew. This is the reason we ask everyone to please signup for a free account at aleatianic.com to ensure that you always get notification of the domains expiration. If you’re entitled to the free domain renewal we can do the manual research and figure it out and still renew your domain for free.

Having an account at aleitanic.com offers the same benefits has having a domain registered at any other registrar as you still have full control.

If you have a domain through us and you don’t have an aletianic.com account please visit there and signup. E-mail sales@jaguarpc.com with the username and the domain name and we can get you set up.

    Les,

I never got that email. Plese email me again at s_corinaldi@hotmail.com .

Here are some answers to the best of my understanding.

#1) I have an account with aletiaNIC : username scorinaldi
i've got swingstatespringbreak.org through them, but not anattempt.org, the domain all this is about. I've had this account for awhile.

#2) I contacted Enom this morning.

They set anattempt.org to point to the default name servers for Jaguar that they have, and have told me to wait 12-24 hrs for propagation to take place.

They told me that someone ( presumably from jaguar ) very recently reset the domain to point to a non-existant server.

    Questions:
#1) Why was my domain being set to a nonexistant server?

#2) Were you guys working on something that Enom just screwed up?

#3) Was it ok that Enom set the domain to point to a default name server?

    thanks,
