    Custom Registration Pages??

First, I'm new to managing a BB.....not a complete idiot, but not exactly a cold newbie either.

For my board, I would like to customize the registration page. Is there a "canned" way to do that, or do I need to learn to author PHP?

    Thanks.

It depends on the board. Most are template-driven so you probably won't have to mess around too much with the source code.

    Which board are you using?

phpBB.......and there I go.....I kind of got this board mixed up with the php board, which would be the even more logical place to put it.

I guess I need to find out where to get templates. If the php board is it, I'm on my way.

    Thanks.

In a word, "Yes," you will need to learn PHP. However, this will NOT be a waste of your time. PHP is THE future of the web, for the foreseeable. So, you might as well get used to it...

BTW, I have been a phpBB devotee for the last 2-3 years. That's what I used before I 'Nuked' my site --- as a standalone app --- and that I am using now. phpBB is a fine product, however, 'they' have recently improved IPB to the point that I would consider it for use on my website, once someone comes up with a workable port. IPB has become a mature product and is even somewhat cutting edge; a new leader, if you will. So, you might want to give them a shot...

If I'm not mistaken, they have tons of 'custom' themes available for it...
