    What's wrong with the SQL-databases?

    Hi,

yesterday my website www.luchtzak.be was down, I couldn't access the database either in the Cpanel. It took over 8 hours before the problem was fixed. The tech support changed the amount of queries to the database and all was running just fine until now... No more access to any of the databases.

    Cpanel-access is not working either...

all down. I have submitted a ticket but no reply so far... I know that the server not down but the website definetely needs the databases to run. What can I do so things like this will not happen again? I am losing credibility, members and visitors as I write this message...

    greetings,

    Bart

Things are working fine right now. There had been a problem at the server side which has been fixed right now. Please do let us know if you require anything else at all.

This happens to me frequently, Bart; maybe once every week or two. My site is totally dependent on MySQL, so I'm attuned to it.

All I can say is that you did the right thing by contacting Tech Support. A lot of ppl will sit there for hours waiting for MySQL to magically reappear, and waiting is a loser's game in this situation.

BTW, the last time this happened, Tech Support had the problem fixed in less than 6 minutes, so you have to give credit where credit is due...

Fixed again I really wonder what can be done that this errors don't appear again:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock' (11)

Somebody knows an answer for this issue please ?

This has been a problem for a while now. I'm not sure what causes it, and since I haven't hosted anywhere else for a long time, I'm not sure if this is a problem with MySQL in general, or if it is specific to Jag. The problem is that when it happens, MySQL still appears to be running properly to the system status system, so support doesn't seem know about it until someone reports it. I'm sure they are looking for a solution, as this seems to be becoming a major issue.

This is the kind of thing that I'd probably start experimenting with if I saw it happen on my server (silicon). I've only seen it happen once and I didn't have time to "play" when it did. That's not to say it hasn't happened more on silicon, I just don't have a very database intensive site, so I may not have noticed other downtimes.

I have the same Vin DSL, got it from nukecops.com

Today I have received an answer in a ticket that they are looking for an effective solution to this problem as 6 SQL-problems in less than 2 weeks is not normal.

    Fingers crossed for that!

Sorry for going OT, but I have some questions for you, Bart...

Are you the guy that made the 'Most Ever Online' block for Nuke?

I added this code to a MS-Analysis 2.x user info block that I've been developing for Mat, over on my web site, but I wanted to add another sql field to give it a date-timestamp. When I started looking around last night, it appears that you wrote the original code. Is that true?

It's no big deal, but I was thinking maybe you might be interested in doing it yourself, if this was your work...

Big w00t! I just visited Mat's site, and guess what?!?!?!
    Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: message_die() in /data/members/paid/m/a/matyscripts.com/htdocs/www/db/db.php on line 88
I guess this isn't a problem unique to JagPC, eh what?

Can somebody contact tech-support on my behalf please?

The SQL-problems are happening more and more, they promissed they solve the problem but unsuccessfull.

I checked my today-statistics and my website has hardly been online today:

    http://www.nedstatbasic.net/s?id=1338353

I urge you to fix this issues here!! I wonder that the server for www.luchtzak.be was online for 99.9 % last month!! I am not paying 550 USD per year to run a website that is not working !!!!!!
