    Thumbs down lost Webalizer stats

I used to have a problem getting stats updated, so someone (Masood, I believe) recommended asking for a daily script to get updates. That has worked like a charm, until late March, when they stopped again. So I asked for an update at which point all previous Webalizer stats were lost. No response to my latest reply to support on this.

Very annoying. Just when I was enjoying watching those graphs indicating tripling daily visits over the past couple of months.

I give up. I guess I should look for my own way to record/ maintain stats on my site. Any suggestions?

Depends on the level of stats you want.

www.sitemeter.com has a good free couter system... you have to put a piece of code on each page.
It will track # visitors, #pages (per visitor and totals), entry page, exit page, duration of visit, referrer in detail for the last 100 visitors, and in aggregate by hour, day, month and year. For free.

For $$, they will give you the above info for the last 1000 visitors, and for the last 4 years.

There are a number of products that will allow you to log visitors yourself, and I have one on my site as well as sitemeter, but its reports are skimpy, as in "How many hits on what page, group or site by month or year."

    Good luck
