Personally, I like Dotster. They aren't the cheapest, but they are the best IMHO.

It's like 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' - this one's too big - this one's too small - this one is just right...

Jag offers domains itself for 9.95 through aletianic - linked from the front page. Don't think there is any specific advantage to ordering your domain from them too though.

I have mine at godaddy.com. It is well priced (8.95 or less) and I consider them very reliable, as they are simply way too big to NOT have their affairs in order.

I use Dotster too. I have also helped a few friends register domains through them and all of us have had good experiences.

Yep! They are the 'JagPC' of accredited registrars...

Here is the official list, if anyone cares: http://www.icann.org/registrars/accr...fied-list.html

Times have really changed in regard to accredited registrars since 1999.

    I use R & K Global Business Services d/b/a/ 000Domains.com (United States)
http://www.000domains.com and have since late 2000. Like some of the others they're not the cheapest. $13.95 per year I think.

I doubt they're any better than some of the other registrars mentioned. I'm satisfied and if it cost a few dollar more than another register I will pay the difference.

Not to take anything away from Jag but I would not have my domain names registered with the same company hosting my web sites. If 000 went into the web hosting business I would not host a site with them.

This is a personal preference. I want to keep domain name registration and web hosting separate.

Thanks to the link Vin gave you have a lot of potential choices.

I feel the same way Connie. Several years ago when I got my first domain name, I registered the name with the same company I hosted with. After about 6 months I started to have problems with them as a host and I wanted out. Even though I didn't have any trouble with the domain registration end of it, I did not want to give them any more of my money (even the small domain renewal fee). Because of that experience, I decided to always keep them both separate.

JagPC and AletiaNIC are pretty much seperate. You could cancel with Jag and still have your domain from AletiaNIC, iirc.
