why are the support login and account login different?

I always have a heck of a time remembering that my login for the support ticket system is my domain, whereas for ftp, control panel, etc, it is my jag username.

Why are these different? Wouldn't it be simpler to make them the same?

    Just wondering.

    Thanks!

One support (client/billing area) login can have many hosting accounts in it, i.e. there is one-to-many relationship between the two, hence the difference.

While you don't have any control over the user name[s], you CAN change your password[s] so they match. That's half the battle...
