Is there a problem with Jaguar this morning? I FTP'd images and web pages and when I view them on line, they look horrible or either the images are just plain gone...?!! Thanks for any info.I'm on the freedom server.

Just a guess... but sometimes you'll experience a bad router blade, or whatever, between you and the site you're trying to connect to. In many cases, this will cause the graphics not to display, blah, blah, blah; "strange things" as you put it.
I suggest taking a different route to your site, via a proxy server. One I've used for years is Megaproxy. It has a nice, simple interface. Here's the URL:
http://www.megaproxy.com/
Go to your site using Megaproxy and see if there is any difference...![]()

Vin, thank you so much. Everything looks just fine through http://www.megaproxy.com/
A friend gave me ZoneAlarm and I just installed it. I wonder if it has anything to do with that installation because I didn't have this problem before.
Hello:
If you believe it may be Zone Alarm causing the problems then just shut it down and try accessing the site (not through the proxy). If it works ok then you know that ZA probably had something to do about it.
You might also want to check your release of ZA. The latest version has been causing all sorts of bizarre behavior in a lot of things and their site discussion area is full of them. The advice from one of their own gurus was to:
"Revert back to the stable and working version of 4.5
These are the links for the PRO and the FREE versions
Download ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...45_594_000.exe
Download ZoneAlarm 4.5
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1012_zl/zlsSetup_45_594_000.exe "
Gravity, more than a good idea, it's the law!
Justin, I already tried that. I shut down Zone Alarm and tried to access my web site. Still not right. I rebooted, turned off Zone Alarm and tried it again and it was still not right. I'm at my wits end. I appreciate your help tho.![]()
You've probably tried this too, but I'll suggest it anyway.Originally posted by Patti

Did you clear the browser's cache before or after rebooting? And does your site use CSS? Are you able to view your get/post requests to track which requests are getting fulfilled and which ones are getting dropped?
I haven't used Zone Alarm for years so diagnosing its impact on your troubles will be difficult for me. Nonetheless, a stale style sheet, or an absent one if your html normally references one, can eradicate your layout while still rendering the core html. I've had proxy servers that were unable to access the css and, expectedly, the site was toast. Is there a setting for blocking/allowing different file formats in your ZA settings?
Just scattershooting at this point. What is your website's addy so that we may take a look and see if we experience the same trouble? May not help since your proxy access through Megaproxy seems to have proceeded nicely, but you never know.
I want to thank everyone who gave me such great tips and suggestions. As of right now, my pages seem to be loading just fine. Didn't do anything ...they just decided to work correctly. Go figure!
I can't express enough how much I appreciate everyones help. As of this evening (in Florida) things are fine, tomorrow is another story. I just got DSL and was so thrilled at how fast everything was on line. And then this happened to me...![]()

Nah... I've been running ZoneAlarm for years (since like 0.0.0.0.0.0.1) and it won't affect you that way. All ZoneAlarm does is stop OUTGOING connections, not incoming connections. That's the brillance of their solution.Originally posted by Patti

I've got 1.5MB DSL service here at the house. I'm running 5 web sites outta here, plus a sizeable LAN, and it works great!Originally posted by Patti

"ZA goes both ways, Vin," he says, cringing at the thought of engaging the Evil One.
