Thumbs up Big w00t! A New Milestone. Thanks JagPC!!!

Looks like I'm gonna hit 1 million page views today (since I moved my account here). I know that doesn't sound like much, but I was lucky if I had 300 page views a day, when I first signed up.

To the powers that be, thanks for letting me run PHP-Nuke on JagPC. I know you guys didn't have a very high opinion of Nuke sites. Hopefully you're more comfortable with them now. I know I am...

    LoL! I doubt it, Bart!

I'm surpised I get as many hits as I do. There isn't that much stuff to do on my site. It's just a showcase/test site. Mostly it's ppl using the Open Directory search engine...

What are you guys using to count page hits? I know Vin uis using a proggy that counts every visit, even from bots.

If I go by AWStats, I've had about 2.2MM

If I go by my javascript-based human being counters, I've had about 1.4MM

    for sheepdogs. Go figure.

I go by 'page views'. Back in the BBS days, before the web, I went by 'hits', but that's kind of misleading these days, with graphics and so forth.

I never paid much attention to AWSTATS. I just looked at it. Actually, it's not far off the MSA totals. 1,027,297 (AWSTATS) compared to 1,010,862 (MSA).

It's amazing how similar our sites are in terms of traffice, and fairly close in growth.

Don't forget that if you've got active subdomains, you have to add them together in AWStats.

Hey, Ron, I'll be racking up 5 million page views in the next couple of days. How goes it with you?

I dunno... depends on what you call a page view.

If you're using MS_Analysis module, you're probably counting all the bot hits to your site.

    I generally don't count non-human or non-java browsers.
Also, I've split my site into 2 "halves", that generally breaks down to the main domain and one sub-domain (another sub-domain is picking up steam, though)

So counting only java-enabled browser page views (not including any of my own views):
One half of my site is at 2,044,484
The other half is at 2,739,218
    ------------------------------------
    Total 4,783,702

ooops: I see that you were going by AWStats. OK, I'll use AWStats:
    AWStats shows
    one half:
    1,894,048 2005 to-date
    836,641 2004
    726,798 2003
    278,215 2002
    -------------
    3,735,702

    other half:
    2,700,166 2005 to-date
    1,014,198 2004
    159,928 2003
    31,875 2002
    --------------
    3,906,167

    Total:
    7,641,869 since moving to Jag

If you want to use one of the other CPanel proggies, I'll give you my numbers for each that are called "page views" not "files" or "requests".

    Analog shows
    One half:
    18,345,636 since moving to Jag

    Other half:
    3,674,470 since moving to Jag

    Total:
    22,020,106 since moving to Jag

    Webalizer shows
    one half:
    2,095,759 last 12 months

    other half:
    385,844 last 12 months

    Total:
    2,481,603 last 12 months

    So, who ya gonna believe?

Can you tell how many of your page views are from your (quite slick!) ODP module?

What's funny, if you look at that 2nd image:

Notice that the number of visits was really high in the first half of the year, but number of pages per visit was quite low.

Near the beginning of the year, I had Google remove my "other half" from it's index. Too much "garbage" traffic (one page view and out).

...and I just noticed, that my stats haven't updated since 10/5. I'll need to talk to support about that! lol
