    Outlook spontaneously failing?

    Hey gang,

I'm running Outlook 2003, and have run into a problem. I can't connect to any of my POP3 accounts. I haven't changed anything in my configs, passwords, or logins. The POP server seems to be working fine, but I can't get into it.

I checked my firewall settings, and account information. I can login via web-based interface, and I can telnet into the IMAP and SMTP servers, but not to POP.

Any ideas? And if anyone has a reference guide for telnet commands on IMAP and SMTP, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

nevermind... it turns out that a server failed when Flash MX 2004 crashed to the desktop.

I guess it took out a few things with it, and XP wasn't smart enough to restart them. Reboot fixed the issue.

Oddly enough, logging out and back in didn't work, yet the service was still running on my wife's account. We have separate logins, and hers was running fine. That's very strange. Worse, why would a given service only take out access to a couple of ports?
