subdomain on a multi-hosted domain?

Basically, we have:

www.domain2.com setup pointing to www.domain1.com/domain2

we would like forum.domain2.com to point to www.domain2.com/forum

Is it possible to do this with a redirect or some other way or would it require to setup another domain pointer?

I don't think it is possible to have subdomains on multihosted domains. You can't set them up directly in Cpanel, but if you contact support they may be able to set it up for you.
