    mod_rewrite Apache module

    G'day....

    I'm interested in running the open-source WordPress http://wordpress.org/ blogging software and I was wondering if my account supported the mod_rewrite Apache module.

    I have no idea as to why the module is nessary, or how to use it, but I guess I'll find that out if I can go ahead and install WordPress.

    BTW, mod_rewrite is the Swiss Army Knife of URL manipulation. Check this out:

    Nor do quite a few people who use it. It is a very powerful module that is both a blessing and a curse. If you don't know what you're doing, you can really muck things up; but if the module is just a prerequisite for your blog, then what Vin said. You have it available and ready to go.
