    SMTP Not Working.

    Its been doing this for quiet awhile now, and I have ignored the problem becuase I have not been actively updating the website however I do need to address the problem. It seems that the POP3 SMTP doesn't seem to be working, I have no clue how to work with the POP3 settings or w.e

    Does anyone have a clue to what is going on with the mailer? I have two mailing list and both seem to be unaffected by this error however, the POP email account are rendered useless, could someone please help. I need some solutions.

    Your ISP may be filtering the port you need to use.

    FWIW, POP3 and SMTP are two completely separate things. JPC offers SMTP services, but, as Ron notes, many ISP's block traffic on the standard SMTP port that isn't destined for the servers that they approve of (read: they own). You can send through your ISP's servers just fine, and as long as your mail client is sending a "From:" header with your JPC hosted email address the recipient won't know which route the message took unless they start digging into the headers (and I know that, unless I'm being spammed, I could care less than to look on most messages I receive). Alternatively you can go the route that Masood suggests in the thread Ron linked and send your message via an SSL encrypted session. I haven't heard of anyone blocking that port yet.

    When you say that your mailing lists are working I suspect that it is because you (or someone else) is sending a message to the list from a non-JPC-hosted email address via a non-JPC SMTP server.
