Coppermine

I am attempting to install a Coppermine photogallery. I made the MySQL database, and when I enter the information into the Coppermine setup, it says it cant find the database. Is there a waiting period for it to register or what?

No, databases should be available as soon as you set them up. Make sure that you are using the correct name and username, though. Your MySQL username is prepended to the name you select. So, if you created a database called "coppermine" and your CPanel username is "hitman" then you'll want to use "hitman_coppermine" as your database name in the code. Do the same for the MySQL username that you (should have) created.
