    disk usage

A week ago I received a disk usage warning because spam assassin was queuing up spam. I have since deleted the spam, but the cpanel still indicates that my disk usage is the same (244.5 meg). The cpanel disk usage viewer indicates a more realistic value, how can we reset the cpanel disk usage?

    Please see this post:

    Disk usage

Hopefully, it will explain the situation.

BTW, if you're going by the stats on the main page in cPanel... I cleared out over 400MB of files from my account last week, and it still isn't being reflected on cPanel's main page, so those figures have to be taken with a grain of salt.

What kind of account do you have that's giving you a warning about disk usage of 244MB? If you are on an older account, perhaps you should look into upgrading to the GigaDeal. The GigaDeal gives you a 1,000MB, more or less, and is probably the same price that you're paying now.

Thanks for the replies...First off, Jag support did reset my cpanel disk usage reading, so I'm good to go there. Secondly, up until today I was on the v200 plan (300meg), I had no idea they had created a better plan. So of course I swapped over to the GigaDeal immediately. I've had a bad habit of only reading the JagPC forums when something didn't work, apparently I need to read/participate in these forums more often. Thanks for your help.

Yes, I guess Jag has grown tired of people complaining that their accounts were upgraded without their knowledge, worried that they'd start getting charged more, because they stopped doing automatic upgrades a couple years ago. But every year they do upgrade the plans, granting the option of more disk space and bandwidth to those who want it. If I recall correctly, it is usually done in the spring--around March or April.

JPC used to be pretty regular about sending newsletters by email to their clients, but those seem to have just been replaced by postings on this forum when something new is happening. I would be nice to see those again, though, especially when a free upgrade (like the ability to go from 300 to 1000Mb) is announced.
