    2 Domains, 1 Account?

    I just bought a new domain that won't eat up much space or traffic. It'll eat less than a gig per month in bandwidth and take up less than 100 megs of space. I'm on the Gigadeal and since I have so much space and bandwidth I was wondering if I could use my current account to host my new domain.

    Yep! You can multi-host up to 5 domains for 'free.' The next 5 they will charge you a $15 setup fee per domain. So, that's a total of 10 domains you can host on one account. It's part of your package...

    Certainly. You'll want to create a subdomain where the new domain will reside, and then open a ticket to support and ask them to multihost your domain name in that subdomain.

    Here's the page from your CPanel:
    Multi-Hosted Domains

    To read more about what is a multi-hosted domain, please click here. From the technical point of view, if your main domain is domain1.com, and you need to multi-host domain2.com, then you will need to create a subdomain "domain2" from the control panel.

    Please note that when you create a subdomain, it will automatically create a folder in your public_html, of the same name as of subdomain, e.g. public_html/domain2/ for the domain2.domain1.com.

    You can then upload files for domain2.com in public_html/domain2/ which will work as an independent website accessible as http://domain2.com and http://www.domain2.com

    In short, when you are ready to setup a multi-hosted domain, please create the subdomain and open a support ticket that your new domain be multi-hosted on the subdomain, e.g.

    domain2.com -> domain2.domain1.com

    Vin,

    Just curious--where did you get this info about a maximum of 10 domains per account? I've seen you throw that number around before, but I don't ever recall seeing a limit stated anywhere on the site or hearing anyone from JPC say it was so. Not that I'll ever want to host 10 domains on my site...I'm just curious.

    We don't have a limit on the number of multi-hosted domains that can be added. Maybe in the past we had that rule, but I'm not aware of any limits on multi-hosting... aside from the $15 charge after the first 5, that VinDSL has already covered.
