Speed or lack thereof

ive been a happy customer for a long time, but this is crazy. i understand its shared hosting, so it wont be instant page loadup, but 35 secs for a phpnuke page to generate with only 2 or 3 visitors on the site? of couse, 5 mins later, the page will generate in .05 secs....lol

jag, you guys sure those are dual opterons and not dual pentium pro's?

im on panther server by the way. eh dont mind me, im just ranting. up till a month or two ago, the server speed was incredible. just too many accounts on that machine? i just run a clan site, so its not that big of a deal, anyone else havin speed probs on panther?

well hope there is something you guys, or I can do. any suggestions would be helpful

im not hatin' , just needed to get the word out, i upload my new work, then it takes me minutes to see if it looks good

MySQL sometimes has some hicups on some of these servers, and that may have been what you were experiencing. Usually a quick ticket to support is all it takes to get the issue rectified.

hmmm, ok will try, but ftp, the control panel, and regual html pages are the same way, sometimes real fast, other times...well heh

just to much load on the cpu i assume.

All I can tell you is...

I have a script on my Nuke site, at the bottom of every page (e.g. the footer), that shows the page generation times - what percentage of time was because of PHP and MySQL, the server load, and so forth. 99% of the time, the 'speed or lack thereof' is caused by PHP, not MySQL , server load, the number of ppl on my site, or anything else - it's PHP, pure and simple.

This is a total mystery to me. There is no reason for it, as far as I can tell; it just happens. It's like PHP 'hangs'...

w00t! seems like jag fixed the problem, cpu load has been under .8 for a couple hours now, was averaging 2-3 before.

once again, jagpc shows why they the best.
