You can do that using htaccess but other protocols such ssh, mysql and mail won't be blocked. If you want to block those, open a support ticket and see if support is able to help you.

they disabled the shell server for me, and i banned a range of ips. i hope this works..
What do I do for the htaccess? I have heard about them, but I never had a need to deal with them.

    I'm short on time...

Yes, you can block whole countries, but it won't stop real hackers. And, it's not YOUR fault. Some ppl just like to hack sites.

    Authentication, Authorization, and Access Control
    Configuration Files

These are Apache 1.3 configuration guides. It might be quite a bit of material at first but you probably need to start familiarizing your self with this stuff. There are many .htaccess guides on the internet (any search engine will give you more than you'll know what to do with) but they all reference the original documentation that I linked.

If you know the IP or modified name of a node from where the hacker attacks, you can create a rule or configuration for it using .htaccess that will deny them from port 80 (normal) or 443 (SSL). The modifications, however, will not help you with ftp, ssh, or other such stuff.

Just wondering... are they brute force hacking your passwords?
