    Problems on Zinc

I'm probably venting here a little bit, but it seems like zinc is, as some other recent threads have expressed about other servers, having some pretty major slowdowns, especially, it seems around 5am central daily. I can ping through, but page loading takes forever. Then this morning, when going through the panel, i get tons of "error 1040:too many connections" errors, on the database manager. The DNS idiot lights don't show any problem at all (do we still have server information pages anywhere?). Support tickets have been turned in with little meaningful response. This morning's episode has me more than a little frustrated, especially in view of the concerns raised over the mysql 4 version being added.

Okay, vent done, has anyone else noticed issues on zinc?

    Angry The problems continue...

I'm willing to be corrected here if there's reason for doing so, but this problem continues from the time of this posting. I have turned in tickets on since 1/23 regularly about issues with zinc being horrifically slow around 5:00 AM Central. I can do a trace and the trace goes through okay but as far as page loading it can take anywhere from 20 seconds to 6 minutes. I cannot afford to have site visitors waiting that long for page loads. The responses from support have been useless. The best response I've gotten was to ticket update I made:

Slightly later I was able to log in to ftp. But, again, it is taking forever to load pages. From this URL: http://www.elderhope.com/modules/AMS/ comes this page loading information at the bottom of the page: Page Loading Data: 298.842 Seconds. Site visitors for any site will not wait for 298 seconds for pages to load, whether the server is backing up or not. Is that the expectation - that people who use jag should figure on page loading taking that kind of time when the server is backing up. Again, this is unacceptable.
    The response:

Thank You for the updates. We deeply appologize for the inconvineance caused. We will make sure that the backup will be done at a more quiet traffic time.
Still, here I am again. Five complaints since Jan 23.

I want to be fair with Jag, and am wiling to listen to a reasonable explanation/education. BUt, having a website since 1997, this is the worst I have seen my site working in all that time (apart from just before Aletia tanked and then was bought by Jag). I cannot afford visitors to have to wait that long, nor in my opinion, should they have to. What's up?

[edit] the %$(*@)#%$ idiot lights say mysql is running but it sure can't be loaded from the control panel. God, I hope they fix this...
