    Question altering root directory

I am using osCommerce and would like to set my catalog directory to be the root directory (rather than public_html). I desire this since a customer will loose their shopping cart content if they leave the catalog directory. Even though I have set the control panel to redirect the default DN to the catalog folder I still loose content. Anyone have any suggestions?

Change the cookie setting inside osCommerce so it will cover all of the domain and not just that folder.
