Boxtrapper for cutting down on spam

Many hosting services now include Boxtrapper as a way to cut down on spam. Has Jag evaluated this package? Why is it not included in our version of CPanel? Has anyone used this? Reviews, anyone?

Boxtrapper protects your inbox from spam by forcing all people not on your white list to reply to a verifcation email before they can send mail to you.
I don't know too much, but I do know that most spam comes from unknown and fake email address. I assume that by it replying to all messages coming in asking for confirmation and the like, that would require many messages to be generated if you received a high volume of spam. That would cause the server to get tons of messages back reporting that they're false addresses. I could see that slowing down the mail server substantially.

I wouldn't think that would be a good idea. Perhaps some others have other views on it or perhaps more information.

I'd be against it if it were implemented with no way to turn it on and off. I maintain a series of mailing list for my scout troop and one of the families on the list uses a piece of whitelisting software and it is annoying to have to go to their website to approve messages all the time (especially since they serve it from a home computer that isn't always turned on). I use my site to run a business. If I told my potential clients that they had to confirm anything they sent to me, they wouldn't be potential clients very long. I use Spam Assassin and it successfully filters about 99% of my spam, so I don't feel the need to add any other protections. After not seeing my mail for the past two days, I had only 3 spam messages in my inbox and over 300 of them in my spam folder

If it were added as an option, I wouldn't be opposed, so long as the extra overhead from running it wouldn't interfere with my site. I'd keep it turned off, but if anyone really wanted to use it, why not?
