    ssl .pem file available?

I've been happily using SSL to send and receive e-mail securely for awhile now. One minor irritation has been that my mail client always pops up a notification that it's unable to verify the SSL server gold.nocdirect.com.

Is the SSL .pem file available anywhere for me to import into my system so I'm not bothered with these checks all the time? Even more importantly, it would be nice for this to be working properly just in case one of those warnings is actually real someday.

    Thanks,

    Tim

It shouldn't produce such warnings, unless you use a very exotic mail client (that doesn't trust many certificates). The most likely reason is that you are using the name gold.nocdirect.com to refer to the server. For SSL you should us secure70.nocdirect.com.

Okay, well that was part of the problem. I updated my server settings to secure70, plus I was able to add the CA to my list of trusted roots. Checking mail now works fine. I'm still getting a notification when I send mail, however.

Before, when I was using gold.nocdirect.com for receiving mail, the certificate that it popped up said it was actually for secure70.nocdirect.com. For sending mail, however, it actually pops up as gold.nocdirect.com on the certificate. The error states that the certificate isn't in the trusted root database. Any ideas?

    As for my MUA, it's Apple's Mail.app, v2.0.

    Thanks!

What are you using for your outgoing mail server?
