    Exclamation Another question

I would like to make 2 more people an administrator or at least moderators for my forum... The last time i tried to turn someone else into an admin, the forum would not longer except that person's login/password. Also as a moderator what all can a mod do. I know an admin has access to everything.

BTW:: I am useing phpbb 2.0.15. If that helps answer any of my questions.

    Another answer :P

Another admin: hmm.. that obviously should not be the case. However, are you sure the person didn't merely panic when having to re-authenticate more often than expected? Recent phpBB version(s) demand that you retype your password each time you go to the admin screen..

A moderator can remove and edit all posts on the boards he / she is a moderator on and can move and split threads. In addition to that they can be granted some extra options, such as making polls and notices on boards where others cannot.

BTW: phpBB has its own forums at www.phpbb.com. Since your questions are very much all about phpBB, you might wish to check out the info (and help) over there (too).

I haven't done this for a while, but basically, you have to create a 'group', give this 'group' permission to do whatever you want them to be able to do, then add said user[s] to this 'group'. You'll want this to be a 'closed group', of course, possibly a 'hidden group', and you'll want to set yourself up as the 'group moderator'.

Maybe that will get you going down the right path...
