    A newer version of Python

I have been working with Python recently and wanted to try writing some stuff for my site hosted here but found out that the version of Python installed is extremely old.

    This is from iridium: "Python 1.5.2 (#1, Jan 31 2003, 10:58:35) [GCC 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2 on linux-i386"

Would really appreciate it if it was upgraded to 2.3.

    Thanks.

Heh! That reminds me... anybody else missing PerlDiver on 'their' server? I did a 'dig' from BASH and couldn't find it. cPanel can't find it either (Neutron)...

    Hey Vin DSL,

That's a nice script. Apparently we have Python 2.2 installed as well. (In /usr/bin/python2.2) That's a step in the right direction, but still a bit dated. The timestamp is "1, Jan 30 2003"

We are limited to what version of Python can be installed since the shared servers are Cpanel servers. By upgrading, we risk breaking Mailman and other scripts Cpanel provides.

I will admit, I have not checked on this in quite some time. If I find there are no further problems with upgrading Python, we'll see what we can do.
