    Help on vbulletin

I installed vbulletin and I am getting this error.. The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file. Why am I getting this error?

you may be wondering why I'm asking a vbulletin question...
    1. It involves permissions
    2. I can't some how post there..

You need to create a MySQL database in CPanel of that account.

Then, you need to fill in those details in the config.php.

By the way, make sure localhost has access to that newly created database.

    Now I'm getting this error
    Attempting to attach to database

Connect failed: unexpected error from the database.

    Error number: 1044

Error description: Access denied for user: 'jflashin_vbullet@localhost' to database 'forum'

Please ensure that the database and server is correctly configured and try again.

Well, in CPanel, there is an option that says MySQL Databases if I remember correctly.

Go in there, create a database and a user for that database. The you must link that user to the database. Once that's done, all you need to do is open the config.php and edit the settings.

It's very easy if you can get past the creation of the database.

User should only be jflashin_vbullet, forget the @localcost. You just need to add localhost in CPanel, at the very bottom of the MySQL section.

And you got vBulletin now because everyone gave up on repeating to you what your info screens on phpBB already told you?

Daiver, you might want to read some more "happy" threads before throwing in all of your energy.

I suggest if you bought a LIC, ask vB for support.

ofcourse if you did not by a LIC, you SOL, and I hope no one else helps you.
